Aunque parezca imposible, al menos hay una persona en el mundo que ha contestado que sí a esta pregunta. Se trata del comprador de los restos de un Bugatti Type 22 Brescia de 1925 que se subastó el pasado sábado en París, alcanzando un precio final de 260.500 euros.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;object width="425" height="344"&gt;&lt;param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/V5lL9d-Nuqc&amp;amp;color1=0xb1b1b1&amp;amp;color2=0xcfcfcf&amp;amp;hl=es_ES&amp;amp;feature=player_embedded&amp;amp;fs=1"&gt;&lt;param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"&gt;&lt;param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"&gt;&lt;embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/V5lL9d-Nuqc&amp;color1=0xb1b1b1&amp;color2=0xcfcfcf&amp;hl=es_ES&amp;feature=player_embedded&amp;fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowscriptaccess="always" width="425" height="344"&gt;&lt;/embed&gt;&lt;/object&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;El vehículo fue rescatado de las aguas de lago Maggiore, situado en Ascona (Suiza), el pasado mes de julio y el hecho mismo del rescate supuso en si mismo todo un acontecimiento mediático. Seguro que, en esos momentos, nadie pensaba que ese trozo de hierro lleno de barro y musgo alcanzaría se vendería por una cantidad tan elevada. Y no precisamente a un chatarrero.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color:#660000;"&gt;70.000 euros de salida&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;La puja se inició en 70.000 euros y las previsiones de los organizadores de la subasta estimaban que el precio de salida se incrementaría en unos 20.000 euros, por lo que nadie esperaba que los restos de este Bugatti alcanzaran un precio tan meteórico. Y es que, después de 73 años bajo el agua, los expertos han estimado que apenas el 20% de las piezas y componentes del vehículo se podrían reutilizar en una hipotética restauración del mismo.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;A pesar de los augurios de la casa de subastas, se estableció una interesante lucha entre los postores finales, que tenían diferentes planes para el vehículo. Así, según informa el diario inglés The Independent, el ganador, un comprador europeo, pretende exhibir el coche en su estado actual. Mientras tanto, su principal rival en la subasta, un estadounidense, pretendía restaurar el vehículo.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color:#660000;"&gt;Una causa benéfica&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;La subasta tuvo lugar en el Rétromobile Salon de París (Francia), una exhibición de coches clásicos y los beneficios alcanzados irán destinados a una causa benéfica, ya que serán para la Fundación Damiano Tamagni que lucha contra la violencia juvenil. Esta fundación recibe el nombre de un buceador italiano que murió a causa del ataque de tres jóvenes. El Bugatti ahogado fue rescatado del lago por el padre de Damiano y otros miembros de su club de buceo.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Bonhams, la casa de subastas encargada de sacar a la venta los restos, ha realizado una extensa investigación para descubrir cómo el Bugatti fue a parar al lago. Según el número del chasis (2461) el vehículo fue registrado en Nancy (Francia) a nombre de Georges Paiva y obtuvo unas placas de matrícula francesas, que son las que han permanecido en el vehículo desde entonces.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color:#660000;"&gt;Buceando en la historia&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Aunque no se ha logrado determinar con exactitud la identidad del propietario del vehículo en Ascona (Suiza), todos los indicios apuntan a que fue Marco Schmuklerski, un arquitecto suizo de ascendencia polaca. La historia que cuentan los habitantes de Ascona es que Schmuklerski se mudó en 1936, abandonando su Bugatti, que estuvo aparcado durante mucho tiempo en los terrenos de un constructor.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Al poco tiempo los funcionarios de aduanas descubrieron el coche -que no había pagado impuestos al entrar al país desde Francia y no tenía matrícula Suiza- y comenzaron a reclamar los impuestos de aduanas que, por aquellos entonces, superaban con creces el valor de un Bugatti de 11 años.
